ลักษณะ :

พืชล้มลุกอายุหลายปี ลำต้นเทียมสูง ๓.๕ – ๔ ม. มีประดำ ประปราย มีไขมาก ใบเดี่ยว เรียงเวียนซ้อนกันที่ปลายยอด ดอกออก เป็นช่อที่ปลายยอด เมื่อติดผล ปลีหลุดหายไป จึงเรียกว่า กล้วยปลีหาย หรือกล้วยเทพรส ซึ่งผลจะมีขนาดใหญ่ ยาวถึง ๒๐ ซม. ซึ่งในเครือหนึ่ง มี ๒ – ๓ หวี ส่วนในสายพันธุ์ที่ยังมีปลีติดอยู่ จะเรียกว่า ‘ทิพรส’ ผลจะมีขนาดเล็กกว่า ในเครือหนึ่งมี ๕ – ๗ หวี ออกดอกและติดผลได้ ตลอดปี ขยายพันธุ์โดยการแยกหน่อ

Characteristics :

Musa (ABBB Group) ‘Theparod’ is a perennial herb. Pseudostems are 3.5 – 4 m tall with spasely black striped. Leaves simple, spirally arranged at top. Inflorescences in terminal and fall away when fruiting, this cutivar called “Tepparod” and the other one is still seen, and called ‘Tipparod’. The “Theparod” has 2 – 3 clusters per a infructescence but the ‘Tipparod’ has 5 – 7 clusters and it’s fruits are bigger than the ‘Tipparod’.

ผลมีรสฝาดเมื่อทำให้สุกด้วยความร้อน แต่เมื่อสุกงอมจะมี รสหวาน กล้วยดิบนำมาทอดกรอบให้รสชาติอร่อย

Uses and Utilization :

The fruits are acerbity when grilled. The ripe fruits are sweet. The young fruits are fried as a delicious snack.
